Palazzo De Noha, Lecce, Italia

Palazzo De Noha

THIS IS THE PLACE If you’re scrolling in search of the most perfect, magical place to stay in the Centro Storico in Lecce, I promise you- this is the place. You can just stop looking. My husband and I just returned home after an August visit to Lecce, visiting our daughter attending a semester abroad program in town. Our experience at this otherworldly spot was so incredible that we came back during the same trip for a second stay and then extended a night beyond that. The hotel is absolutely stunning. Architecturally it is the perfect mix of rich historical beauty, combined with modern, hip styling. The ground floor has glass floors in places where you can see some exposed ruins of the old town. The rooms are across a few buildings in this corner of Lecce and each building is equally wonderful. The location, within the Centro Storico (inside the walls of the old town) is perfection. It’s on a slightly quieter street tucked into a little corner building but everything you could ever want to experience in Lecce is within easy walking distance. Restaurants, bars, churches, shops- all an easy walk. As much as we always wanted to be exploring Lecce, it was so lovely to be in the hotel. The breakfasts- incredible! The cocktails- divine! The rooftop pool - exactly what you need in summer after exploring the medieval streets of Lecce. It’s just a shallow wading pool but perfect for cooling off, reading or enjoying one of those aforementioned divine cocktails. The guest crowd is a total mix- no annoying, obnoxious tourists- just generally nice people of different ages from all over the world. And even though all of this would be enough- what makes this place truly special are the incredible warm, gracious, kind, generous humans who work there. They took such amazing care of us in every way imaginable while we were there. Dario lovingly prepared amazing breakfasts, Aurora- perfect lattes, cappuccinos and espressos. Antonio & Ava always greeted us like family and made us beautiful cocktails, played the BEST music on the rooftop and just generally made us feel at home. The management and front desk were just beyond- Angela, Francesco and Mattia (and I know there was one more lovely gentleman who’s name I never learned) took such generous care of us that we truly never wanted to leave. I made it a habit somehow to lose things while I was there- our passports, an important tote bag and Mattia searched high and low both times, going through our car for us each time and never even seemed mildly annoyed. When we arrived on their doorstep for the second time (after leaving an Airbnb that wasn’t working for us) they welcomed us warmly and reworked a few things to find a perfect room on the ground floor (my husband is recovering from a stroke and ease of access was important for us). And when we wanted to stay just one more night- same. On the mornings when we had extremely early plans, the team arranged breakfast boxes at the desk for us to take on our journeys, left our car right outside the doors ready to go and Mattia always made sure we left in the car with bottles of water to brave the hottest days. And just before we left- lovely Francesco told us that if our daughter needed anything at all during her stay in Lecce, she should come straight to the hotel and they would take care of her. I said “She might arrive here crying” and he said “Well then we will cry together.” This place is truly magical. Thank you Palazzo de Noha for taking incredible care of us!! And if you've made it this far into my long review- look no further for your stay in Lecce, this place is all you are dreaming of and so much more. ❤️
Excellent, they deserve the Michelin they have. Room was beautiful and staff helpful and friendly. Cocktails and breakfast great. Amazing stay. We enjoy our time there and super well located with parking available on request.
