Where art, passion and the spirit of Portugal meet
In the quiet village of Melides, Vermelho is a refined retreat where creativity and craftsmanship shape every detail. Conceived by Christian Louboutin, it reflects his deep love for beauty, colour, and culture, a place where design becomes emotion.
Behind its pastel façade, thirteen rooms unfold with distinct character: hand-painted murals, antique furnishings, Portuguese tiles and subtle touches of Louboutin’s signature red. Some open directly onto the gardens, others overlook the rooftops and soft Alentejo hills.
At Xtian, the hotel’s vibrant restaurant, the flavours of the region take centre stage, octopus salad, fried red mullet, bacalhau and comforting chicken broth paired with local wines. Mornings begin with warm pastéis de nata, sourdough and homemade jams, while evenings end at the green marble and silver-leaf bar, where cocktails are crafted like small works of art.
