Casas da Lapa, Seia, Portugal

Casas da Lapa

Design, silence and wild nature in northern Portugal
Set among the granite peaks and pine forests of Serra da Estrela, Casas da Lapa is the kind of hideaway that trades noise for nuance. In the sleepy village of Lapa dos Dinheiros, this boutique retreat blends clean design with natural textures, crisp air, and the sort of silence that slows your heart rate.
Suites are warm in winter, breezy in summer, with timber floors, soft wool throws and handmade ceramics adding just enough detail. Some have fireplaces, others open onto private terraces with views that stretch across mountains and sky. Breakfast arrives whether you stay in bed or take it outside — think local honey, Serra cheeses, still-warm bread and fruit that actually tastes of something.

Reviews
We spent two incredible nights at Casas da Lapa. Nestled right in the heart of a mountain village, the hotel boasts exceptional design, gorgeous pools, and a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere, all made better by the warm, friendly staff. The on-site restaurant was outstanding, and the wild hiking trails starting right from the property were a major highlight. We will definitely be reserving this gem again on our next visit.
