Locanda al Colle, Camaiore, Italy

Locanda al Colle

An intimate and artful haven in the Tuscan hills
Tucked into the Tuscan hills above Camaiore, Locanda al Colle is a sophisticated country retreat where art, nature, and timeless charm come together. Surrounded by centuries-old olive trees and perfumed gardens, this former farmhouse offers sweeping views of the sea and the coastal plain below.
With just 12 individually styled rooms — some with private terraces, fireplaces, or freestanding bathtubs — the Locanda is designed for those seeking intimacy, comfort, and quiet elegance. Antique furnishings, retro touches, and contemporary artworks create a warm, curated atmosphere, while the absence of televisions ensures true disconnection.

Reviews
Second visit, already booked for next year, and I would go back a third and fourth time without hesitating. We stayed in the Colle family suite with our two boys and it was as close to perfect as a hotel room gets with small children; two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bath, and two loos. The decor is beautiful, and our shaded terrace with its outdoor shower, table and sofa became our favourite spot in the whole place. Breakfast is extraordinary; there is an in-house pastry chef, so the pastries and cakes are incredible, alongside eggs, fruit and yoghurt, and we happily lingered over it every morning. The pool was the nicest pool I think we have ever been in at a hotel. Riccardo and his staff could not have done more for us and were warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, toddler and all. The driveway is tight with a big car but entirely manageable, and that is genuinely the only thing I can find to say. We cannot wait to be back.
This place is perfect. One of our favourite hotels in the world. Wonderful owner, staff, service, atmosphere, room, art, beach club, food. All perfect.
Amazing property with excellent service and staff. Riccardo is a great host and very knowledgeable, he treats you like friends as soon as you arrive. Very rare to find this level of hospitality and service - we will be back.
